Have you ever felt that there were too many rainy days in your life and not enough sunshine days? Do you ever look back and wish, on reflection, that you had said or done something differently?

That used to be me. I always saw the negative side of everything - I even saw negativity in negativity, if that's at all possible. Those that know me well would be quite surprised to learn that I used to be the quiet shy type, never pushing myself forward for fear of being pushed back - does that sound like you? Well, join the club!

Back in the 80's, I remember being invited to an RAF reunion party. I didn't want to go because I always thought reunions were for old people. After much thinking though, I decided to attend. Since I'd changed considerably from my RAF days, no one recognized me - not even my best pal, Dennis. I was wearing glasses, had added a few pounds to my middle, and as I recall, was wearing an outrageously loud shirt. There I sat at the banquet table eating my meal and sipping my wine (of course) while watching 'others' reunite. I chatted to some of the guests, but no-one asked who I was until Dennis came up to me and said that he had been staring at me all evening because there was something familiar about me and he couldn't quite put his finger on it. "Dennis, it's me," I said, "David Hooker!"

His response amazed me. He slapped me on the back and ......
